In 2001, for the first time in Royal Canadian Golf Association history, Jim was the first public player elected to the Board of Governors of Golf Canada. When speaking about the blazer Jim recalls the element of prestige that came with it, “The blue blazer of the Royal Canadian Golf Association was a very prestigious thing to receive in those days. I am a bit of a traditionalist with the history of the game of golf so my Royal Canadian Golf Association jacket is something that I’ll never let go of.”
