This black and white photograph was taken at Stemmle’s “home ski club” where she learned to ski at the age of 2. This photograph shows Stemmle at age 3 going up a hill with a rope tow with her mother, Andrea Stemmle, behind her. Both Karen’s parents were ski instructors and they taught her to ski. Stemmle still skis there today with her children.
