This gold medal was won by Jim Elder during the 1968 Olympics in Mexico. It was the first Olympian gold medal for the Equestrian sport to be won by a Canadian.

Reverse image: Crowd of people with Athlete (?) raised onto their shoulders. Medal has ribbon attached to it. No glass on frame. Medal is free-moving on backing, only end of ribbon is fixed to frame.
