Media Release – Rotary Club to Sponsor Wine – ASHOF Induction Celebration Dinner September 22, 2015

September 22, 2015

Wendy Browne was named Hero of the Month by Highland GM. As far as the Aurora Sports Hall of Fame is concerned, Wendy is also a champion as she pledged support, on behalf of the Rotary Club of Aurora, for the 3rd year in a row.

The Aurora Sports Hall of Fame (ASHoF) celebrates excellence in sports and honours those who have contributed to the rich sport heritage of this community. In addition to a fantastic induction, professional exhibit at the Town Hall and impressive website, ASHoF is working on education programs for youth and is poised to launch a pilot program in 10 local schools this October. Although gratefully funded by the Trillium Foundation to launch the Hall, ASHOF relies on the benevolence of community partners and they consider the Rotary club to be among their finest. This engagement allows the Hall to connect with, support and honour those who have contributed so much to the community. Wendy and her fellow Rotarians recognize the value in doing so.

“The Rotary Club of Aurora was proud to be one of the Presenting Sponsors for the Inaugural Aurora Sport’s Hall of Fame Induction Dinner in 2013. The success of this event and the desire to continue to recognize fellow Aurora citizens for their life accomplishments resonates very strongly with our club. With a desire to broaden our participation, not only did our club continue as a presenting sponsor in 2014 with Inductee Ben Steenhorst we also proudly hosted the Meet and Greet held on the eve of the 2014 Induction Dinner. This well-attended event engaged local professionals to enjoy a more intimate setting with Honoured Members as well as the 2014 Inductees.”

Regarding this year’s Induction Dinner being held at St. Andrew’s College, Ms. Browne went on to say “For 2015, the Rotary Club of Aurora is doubly honoured; first to sponsor the Meet and Greet on Nov 3rd and also proudly sponsor the wine for this very prestigious event on Nov 4th, 2015″

Service Above Self – indeed.
