Nico Massimo

Nico Massimo

Whispering Pines Public School

Nico is a focused, respectful, and responsible grade 8 student who brings a positive attitude to everything he does. In the classroom, he demonstrates strong time management skills and a consistent ability to balance his academics with a demanding athletic schedule. He is an engaged learner who participates supports his peers, making him a natural leader among his classmates.

What truly sets Nico apart is his maturity and leadership—both on and off the field. He leads by example, always encouraging his teammates, remaining calm under pressure, and showing respect to officials, coaches, and competitors alike. His deep passion for sports is matched by his commitment to teamwork and his positive influence on those around him.

Nico has represented his school with pride on teams including volleyball, soccer, basketball, and track and field. Outside of school, he plays AAA hockey with the U15 Markham Waxers, a commitment that requires tremendous discipline and dedication. Despite his busy schedule, Nico still finds time to deliver newspapers in Aurora and tutor younger students.

His leadership is especially evident during school sports—whether on the court or the bench, Nico is always uplifting and unifying his team. His determination and example have helped create a strong, supportive team environment wherever he plays.

Beyond athletics, Nico contributes to school life as a member of the grad fundraising committee, frequently helping set up school events and even taking on emcee duties. He is dependable, enthusiastic, and a true role model for his peers.

Nico has also enjoyed success in baseball with the Aurora-King Jays and soccer with the ANB Futbol Academy. He looks up to NHL star Connor McDavid as a favourite athlete and will be attending Bill Crothers Secondary School in September to continue pursuing excellence in academics and athletics.

Congratulations, Nico!
