Leyton Girardo is a young athlete whose passion for sport has made a strong impression on the Aurora Community Tennis Club. Raised in an athletic family, with both parents actively involved in tennis and volleyball, Leyton was introduced to competitive sport at an early age. He first picked up a tennis racquet at just one year old, and from that moment, his enthusiasm for the game has only continued to grow. He enjoys studying coaching materials and athlete biographies to improve his understanding of the sport.
Leyton has represented both the Aurora Community Tennis Club and the Newmarket Community Tennis Club with great success. His competitive achievements include being named an intercounty tennis area finalist and earning a place in the Tennis Rocks Final Tournament for two consecutive years. These accomplishments highlight not only his skill, but also his consistency and ability to compete at a high level.
Leyton’s performance at the Aurora Community Tennis Club Championships demonstrates his development and competitiveness. Over the past three years, he has competed in both singles and doubles events, regularly finishing among the top players. In 2023, he captured the U12 Doubles Championship title. He followed this with an outstanding 2024 season, winning the U12 Singles Championship and finishing second in doubles. In 2025, Leyton once again proved his consistency by placing second in both singles and doubles, making him the only male athlete to achieve top-two finishes in both events across the past two seasons.
In addition to tennis, Leyton is a multi-sport athlete at Aurora Heights Public School, where he contributes to badminton, volleyball, and cross-country teams.
Leyton enjoys outdoor activities and reading science fiction. Professional tennis champion Jannik Sinner is his favourite athlete.
Known for his teamwork, perseverance, and positive attitude, Leyton represents the qualities of both a leader and a supportive teammate. His dedication to excellence across sport makes him a very deserving Future Hall of Famer of the Month recipient.
