Currently in her final year of high school, Emma Wang has proven to be a resilient student-athlete. She’s seen improvement in the classroom after overcoming the transition from elementary school in 2020, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, to earn straight A academic success in 2024.
Emma has applied herself and worked hard over the three years of playing high school volleyball. Her effort has brought success to herself as well as the team. Often times, Emma can be found working with teammates to improve their overall game. As the team captain, she understands that each small improvement shown by a player benefits the performance of the entire team.
Emma is widely regarded as an extremely versatile volleyball player. She predominantly plays the Libero position, but she willingly takes on the role of setter or hitter, when required. Setting this example and playing multiple positions on the team, when necessary, helps younger players understand the importance of contributing to the team environment.
Emma takes time out of her busy schedule to assist the coaches of the school’s junior girls’ volleyball team and she enjoys her role on the school’s Athletic Council. Calm and outgoing, she values the close bonds forged through sport with her teachers in the school community.
Emma feels that her personable approach extends to teammates, coaches and referees which allows for a respectful and fun atmosphere on and off the volleyball court.
Knowing that her final high school volleyball match is coming soon, Emma plans to approach her final game as if it was her first game – with fun at the forefront!
Emma has been accepted into multiple universities and she is looking forward to her academic career in the fall.
Congratulations, Emma!
