For the second consecutive year, the Aurora Sports Hall of Fame (ASHoF) is delighted to announce a donation of $4,000 to the Canadian Mental Health Association, York & South Simcoe (CMHA). This contribution is part of the proceeds raised at the 2nd Annual ASHoF “Celebrity Golf Classic,” held on June 20, 2024, at the picturesque Pheasant Run Golf Club.

This year’s donation marks a slight increase from last year, reflecting the growing support and success of the event. The remainder of the funds raised will help support future education programs, manage capital assets, and enhance the presence of the Hall of Fame at its current location.
“Mental health and sports are closely linked, which underscores the importance of ASHoF’s Celebrity Golf Classic supporting CMHA York & South Simcoe. Thanks again to our sponsors and players. We look forward to seeing you in June 2025 for our 3rd Annual Celebrity Golf Classic,” said Mike Smith, Co-Chair of the Golf Committee.
Representatives from both organizations gathered for a formal cheque presentation and photo opportunity at the Aurora Sports Hall of Fame, located at 1400 Wellington Street East, Aurora, ON. “Thank you to the organizers, donors, sponsors, and golfers who made the 2nd Annual Aurora Sports Hall of Fame Celebrity Golf Classic a success! Your support ensures that thousands in our community have access to specialized mental health care when they need it most. By fostering a community of mental health champions and advocates, we are reducing stigma and creating a supportive environment for those who are struggling. Thank you!” said Catherine Matzig, Senior Director of Philanthropy at CMHA York & South Simcoe.
Looking ahead, ASHoF is excited to announce that the 3rd Annual “Celebrity Golf Classic” is scheduled for mid-June 2025, once again at Pheasant Run Golf Club. Stay tuned to our social media channels and email updates for the official date announcement. The event promises to be another memorable day of golf and community support.
