ASHoF Opens 2019 Induction Applications February 7, 2019

On November 8 , 2018, the Aurora Sports Hall of Fame (ASHOF) hosted its annual induction dinner held at St. Andrew’s College. It was the hall’s 6th year; a tremendous evening of sports celebration and recognition emceed by TSN’s Rod Black.

The class of 2018 included Bob Bain (basketball coach), the late Loring Doolittle (NHL referee), David Morland IV (professional golfer) and Paolina Allan-Small, a very successful triathlete!

These tremendous individuals join a long list of previous inductees such as Frank Stronach, Jim Elder, Mike Murphy, Brian Stemmle, Karen Stemmle, Mike Kitchen, Dan Thompson, Mike Palmateer and many more, whose stories can be seen at the Hall of Fame located at the Stronach Aurora Recreation Centre (SARC) complex on Wellington. Please visit and be inspired by their stories and accomplishments.

Nomination for the prestigious honour to be part of the 2019 inductees is underway. The deadline for submissions to the ‘Class of 2019’ is 12:00 pm March 15th at which point applications are closed off.

Nominations will be accepted for individuals in the following categories: Athlete, Coach, Builder/Contributor. To learn more on the selection criteria for each category, please visit aurorashof.ca

“We are very proud of our past Inductees and look forward to the Class of 2019,” says Chair of the Board of Governors, David Thom.” It is important for our Aurora citizens to participate by submitting their recommendation of an outstanding athlete, coach or builder, as their choice to be included at our Induction Dinner in November. The nomination process is easy to follow and help is available by contacting us via our website.”
