On November 8 , 2018, the Aurora Sports Hall of Fame (ASHOF) hosted its annual induction dinner held at St. Andrew’s College. It was the hall’s 6th year; a tremendous evening of sports celebration and recognition emceed by TSN’s Rod Black.
The class of 2018 included Bob Bain (basketball coach), the late Loring Doolittle (NHL referee), David Morland IV (professional golfer) and Paolina Allan-Small, a very successful triathlete!
These tremendous individuals join a long list of previous inductees such as Frank Stronach, Jim Elder, Mike Murphy, Brian Stemmle, Karen Stemmle, Mike Kitchen, Dan Thompson, Mike Palmateer and many more, whose stories can be seen at the Hall of Fame located at the Stronach Aurora Recreation Centre (SARC) complex on Wellington. Nomination for the prestigious honour to be part of the 2019 inductees is underway. The deadline for submissions to the ‘Class of 2019’ is 12:00 pm March 15th at which point applications are closed off.
