This Order of Canada medal was awarded to Mr. Galbraith for his outstanding contribution and achievements and was given to him in 2005. His daughter also remembers Mr. Galbraith feeling “very honoured to receive this very prestigious award “. The hexagonal snowflake design medal has a maple leaf in the centre circle to represent Canada, along with a surrounding red ring with the motto of the Order: “Desiderantes meliorem patriam” meaning “They desire a better country”. It is attached to a red and white ribbon.
